Can You Bring An Electric Razor On A Plane?

Yes! You’d be hard-pressed to do any damage to someone with the blade on an electric shaver, regardless of whether you shave with a trimmer or a foil or rotary shaver

The TSA makes things as clear as can be. You shouldn’t have any trouble with your electric razor, no matter the type or make, especially when flying in the United States.

That said, the TSA agents may still check your carry-on, and if they have a reason to believe your electric shaver could cause issues, they are still allowed to confiscate it. The good news is that we haven’t found a single instance of this happening to anyone in the last decade.

If you don’t want to risk your precious electric razor, you can always buy a pack of disposable razors. I normally wouldn’t recommend them, but they’re also allowed on airplanes and it’s not a big deal if they get lost or damaged during your travels.

Can I Put My Electric Razor In My Checked Luggage?

There can be some confusion, but the answer is that you can definitely put your electric razor in your checked luggage – you’ll just need to take a few precautions.

There are restrictions on items with lithium and lithium-ion batteries going in the checked luggage. However, these restrictions don’t apply to your electric shaver, since those built-in batteries are never powerful enough to cause issues.

That said, you will want to make sure that there’s no risk of your shaver accidentally turning itself on while in your suitcase. A lot of shavers come with travel lock settings, which are perfect for preventing issues. If your electric razor doesn’t have a travel lock, drain the battery completely before the flight instead.
